World-historical research and publication is expanding rapidly. Most of this research is conducted by individual scholars working on their own. Fortunately, these scholars are increasingly able to work in contact with one another, especially through formation of associations based on each of the continents. The World History Network seeks to facilitate collaboration among world historians worldwide.

University-level programs of research and graduate study are still relatively rare. A growing number of programs, however, are providing professional training in history at the global level. The World History Network seeks to provide information on all major programs of world-historical research and up-to-date lists of recent publications and forthcoming conferences.
