Mission

The World History Network provides a review of electronic materials for research and teaching in world history. The Network website itself, navigated by the Site Search, provides reviews of the field, tutorials, announcements, a discussion forum, research reports, assessments of websites, guides to methods for research and teaching, and detailed materials for teaching and research. In addition, the Network provides links to a wide range of internet and other electronic resources for teaching and research in world history.

The purpose of the World History Network is to go beyond a simple list of electronic resources in world history, and to develop techniques for connecting these resources into broad and critical interpretations of the global past. Its audience is practitioners of world history, both teachers and researchers, and it emphasizes the close connection between research and teaching. The Site Search is the central device for reaching information; search results will provide questions and information on world-historical connections.
