Multimedia

My work in multimedia presentations of history, all done through the World History Center, has included participation in the CD-ROM, Migration in Modern World History 1500-2000, direction of the websites of the World History Center and World History Network, and an online simulation of the Atlantic slave trade.

Along with work on the Migration CD-ROM, I envisioned preparation of several other thematic CD-ROMs on world history. The proposal on "Technology in World History" was the most fully developed, and a copy is available here. The proposal was written for submission to the National Endowment for the Humanities, but was not submitted because other priorities intervened.

The Migration Simulation is an interactive simulation of the demography of slave trade and other migrations. First put online at the World History Center in 1996, and modified in 2001, it is now available in a substantially improved version housed on the World History Network.
