OUTPUT OF SIMULATION RESULTS

1. CONTENTS AND INITIAL DATA

The initial page of the simulation output provides a list of the contents of the output file, with links to make it easy to reach each section and return to the contents. Immediately following the contents is a list of the file names for all 16 input files, and then three population pyramids showing the size and structure of the initial Rural and Urban populations, and their total, labeled as the Regional population.

2. POPULATION PYRAMIDS AFTER MIGRATION

At the end of a 40-year period of simulation (or earlier if you request it), the output file shows population pyramids for the free populations, the slave populations, the captive populations, and also for the deaths among captive populations. These include the number of persons for each age and sex group, the total populations, and certain population ratios.

3. SUMMARY STATISTICS

For the end of a 40-year simulation (or earlier if you request it), a complete set of rates of birth, death, migration, and population growth (or decline) is provided for each of the populations traced. The Glossary will be helpful to you in clarifying the definition and calculation of these statistics and an explanation of the populations to which they apply.
